Reclaim Your Power and Embrace Your True Potential
Hey, Fearless Writers,
As we close out another year, I want to address something I see far too often in new authors: the moment of surrender. You sit down with your manuscript, fingers poised over the keyboard, heart full of purpose—and then you stop. Not because you lack talent or because your story isn't worth telling, but because you give in to the voices.
Those voices whisper lies: "Who are you to write this?" "Nobody wants to hear your story." "You're not qualified." "You don't have the time or money to publish your book." Fear disguises itself as reason, and too many powerful testimonies remain locked away in hearts that were meant to share them.
The Truth About Your Journey
Here's the truth: You did not overcome what you overcame just to remain silent. Your trials were preparation for the people who need to hear that they're not alone. The difference between giving in and giving out is this: giving in means listening to fear and letting it stop you. Giving out is sharing your story with a world that desperately needs it.

Personal Reflection
Let me share something personal. For years, I battled with sugar. I knew I needed to give it up, but it was an uphill battle. I would have good days, but more bad days. Then I'd string together a good week—focused, determined, no sugar.
But then something would happen. It was like I wasn't even aware of my actions. I'd find myself in the grocery store parking lot with chocolate in my hand, eating it, thinking, "How did I get here again?" I couldn't believe I'd given in. Again. This pattern repeated for years.
A Shift in Perspective
Last October, something shifted. I made a decision to give up sugar, and this time I was truly determined and focused. I understood that cravings would come—they always do—but I also understood that it was my choice whether to give in to them or not.
And let me tell you, I did it. I'm now 14 months in without intentional sugar. And I feel the difference in my body! You don't have to give in!
Overcoming Excuses
Here's what I learned that applies directly to your manuscript: You are going to have excuses. You're going to have what feel like valid reasons to stop, to put it off, to give in to the voice that says "not today," "not me," or "not good enough."
But you are in control. Just like I had to choose not to give in to the craving for sugar, you have to choose not to give in to the fear, the doubt, the procrastination. The cravings to quit will come. The voices will get loud. You might even find yourself "in the parking lot," wondering how you stopped writing again.
The Power of Choice
But understand this: every time you sit down to write, you're making a choice. Every time you open that manuscript instead of closing it, you're choosing to give out instead of giving in.
It may be hard. In fact, it probably will be. But hard is not the same as impossible. Someone's freedom is connected to your faithfulness. Your story has the power to set someone free, but only if you refuse to give in.
Make the Decision
This month, make the decision. Not just to start, but to finish. Don't let another year pass with your testimony locked inside you. You got this.
Fearless Writers Q & A
Question: I noticed there is an author's profile page on KDP. Should I sign up?
Answer: Yes, even if you only publish one book. This is an opportunity to share information about yourself with your readers. You can also share all your published books.
Next Steps for You
As we wrap up, I want to encourage you to take action. What will you do today to move closer to your writing goals? Maybe it's setting aside time to write, or perhaps it's sharing your story with someone who needs to hear it.
